Pedro Morales y Mercado was a 17th-century Spanish nobleman and official in the Río de la Plata, Argentina.
Biography
Born in the 17th century in Ciudad de Rodrigo, Spain, Pedro Morales y Mercado was the son of Juan de Morales y Mercado and Blanca Enriquez de Soria. relative of House of Enríquez. in 1630s he moved to Buenos Aires, was appointed Captain in the fort of city. His wife was María Manzanares y Aguilar, daughter of Government official Francisco de Manzanares y Dardos and his wife Leonor de Aguilar.
Pedro Morales y Mercado has held various senior positions during the Viceroyalty of Peru, served as Lieutenant Governor, Chief Justice, Mayor, Alferez Real, and Treasurer of Buenos Aires.
