Paz En La Tormenta

Paz En La Tormenta is the Spanish translation of the original song "Peace In The Midst Of A Storm", written by singer/songwriter Kirk Allen in 1974, after Kirk lost his wife and child in childbirth. He then went off to Europe, where he joined up with a Jesus People. In the group he became a prominent songwriter, writing contemporary Christian songs long before there were radio programs that would play them, as there are today. In 1975, the song was translated into French by Nicolas Sonn and was adapted and produced by Nicolas Sonn, a French producer, on a single 45 RPM release. The song became of notable fame in France in the same year by Les Enfants De Dieu. In 1976, Argentinian Irene Quiti Vera translated the song into Spanish, which is to this day, the same words that all reproductions of the song are using. The Jesus People of Europe began singing of the song in the streets, in metros, in clubs, in old folks home, in prisons, and just about anywhere they could, and also into the Latin Americas because the song had an inclination to move people who were hurting or in anguish. To date several Spanish singers have made claim to have written the song themselves, causing a mountain of litigation in order to prove the origins of the song. This brings memories of the Spanish song “Quanta la Vera,” which also was written by an unknown author, until resolved many years later. Kirk Allen has also written many other similar songs, also sung and produced by various Christian artists, such as "Susan Cagle's" version of "Ain't It Good To Know". Today He resides on his farm in Moody, Texas, where continues to write and record Christian-oriented songs. He recently released his first solo CD with "Peace In The Midst Of The Storm", "Ain't It Good To Know" and many new songs.
