Paul Davidge Paul Davidge shares the story behind Not So General in West

Paul Michael Davidge (born 5 January 1982 in Harlow, Essex) is an English Cricketer Educated at Burnt Mill School in Harlow before completing two years of study at The Bishop's Stortford High School. Paul completed an undergraduate degree (B.A. Hons) at The University of Chichester (2001-2004), before complete a PGCE at De Montfort, Bedford (2004-2005) and a Master's Degree (MSc) at Loughborough University (2010-2013).

Career Summary

Paul started his career, playing for Kent Second XI in 2000. Paul then played in the Under 19 ECB County Championship for Hertfordshire CCC between 2000 and 2001 making his debut against Herefordshire CCC at Haileybury School in 2000. Paul captained the County in all of their championship matches during the 2001 season. He made his Senior Minor County debut for Berkshire in 2003 against Wiltshire at Westbury CC. During the 2003 season Paul also made his debut for Middlesex, in the second XI, against The Army.

Paul played for the English Universities between 2002–2005 and was part of the victorious England team that were crowned champions of the British Universities Home Nations Championship in Cardiff in 2005.

Davidge went on to play for Bedfordshire CCC in the Minor Counties Championship in 2005 making his debut against Suffolk CCC, at Luton town CC and then for Wiltshire, in 2006, 2007 and 2008, making his debut for the South West County against Wales Minor Counties in 2006 at Abergavenny CC. Paul also played for Wiltshire in the Minor Counties One Day Trophy making his debut for them against Oxfordshire CCC in 2006, and he was part of the successful team who were defeated in the Semi Finals of the one day trophy in 2006. Davidge then moved to Huntingdonshire CCC and played for them between 2008 and 2011. One of his many stand out performances for the County came when he took 6 dismissals against Northumberland in a two-day match in 2009, at Tynemouth CC.

Paul played for the MCC in many 'secretaries out matches' between 2006 and 2012 and he captained the Club against Durham MCCU at the Racecourse Ground in 2011, scoring 1 and 52 in the sides two innings. Paul completed three stints as an overseas player for A Grade clubs in Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland between 2008 and 2011. Paul played representative cricket whilst in Australia playing for the Victorian Crusaders during his spell in Victoria in 2008 and Queensland SDCA during his time in the state in 2011. Paul scored 18 runs and took 4 catches on debut for the QSDCA side in 2011.

Paul finished his career for the MCC in the 2012 in the European Intercontinental Twenty20 tournament in the Netherlands where he played in matches against Jersey Cricket Board, France and the Netherlands.
