Patrick Thimbleby (born 4 October 1963) is a British photographer, who lives in London.
Life and work
Patrick Thimbleby was born in Reading in England. He studied at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art from 1990 to 1992. He studied with Wolfgang Tillmans, and since 1993 he has lived and worked in London.
"I fell in love with London when I used to travel through it on my trips to boarding school in Peterborough. This coincided with me discovering Japan (band), The Stranglers and The Human League.
Thimbleby has published work in magazines such as House & Garden (magazine) and MacUser, but he is mostly known for his conceptual work and grand visions.
Since the mid-1980s, Patrick Thimbleby has pushed the boundaries of representational genres from portraiture to still life to landscape through the medium of photography.
