Partisan Records is a Brooklyn, New York and London, UK based independent record label. It was started in 2007 by Ian Wheeler and Tim Putnam. In late September 2008, Partisan Records announced that it had signed indie folk group Deer Tick. Partisan re-issued Deer Tick's full-length debut War Elephant on November 11, 2008. Partisan has since worked with the likes of Sylvan Esso, John Grant, Bombino (musician), Torres and PHOX. Recent signs include The Black Angels, Cigarettes After Sex, Tender and Emel Mathlouthi.
