The Paria brush finch (Arremon phygas) is a species of bird in the Emberizidae family. It is found in the undergrowth of humid forests, especially near the edges, at altitudes of 300 to 1,200 metres (980 to 3,940 ft) in the Venezuelan Coastal Range.

Taxonomy

The Paria brush finch was often treated as a subspecies of the stripe-headed brush finch (A. torquatus), but was determined a distinct species, on the basis of differences in vocalization, plumage, and genetics. The SACC split the group in 2010.
