Paratherina wolterecki is a species of fish in the Atherinidae family endemic to Indonesia. They can be found in the area of Sulawesi within freshwater systems. This species is recorded to be vulnerable to becoming an endangered species. The average length of this species as an unsexed male is about 15 cm or 6 in. Their environment is pelagic and they live in tropical climates. They can occupy the lakes Towuti and Mahalona in Asia. It has the characteristic of having a mouth pointed upward.
