Pankh (organisation)

Pankh is a non-profit organisation established by five engineering students from Bhubaneshwar in 2012 that operates in various fields like street plays, theatres, short films, and others. In 2015 November, they launched their own website which aims at acting as a platform for rising talents in the fields of movie making, writing, and creating a platform for sharing overall viral content –entertainment, sports, politics, social concerns, etc.

PANKH started as a small dramatic group formed by five engineering students from KIIT University Bhubaneswar in the year 2012, namely Bibhu Nandan Singh, Abhinav Anand, Vishwajeet Pratap Singh, Dev Shekhar Shukla and Amit Kumar. What they started as a small group performing theatres and street plays is now a team of about 120+ members, seeking expertise in various fields. A few months after it was formed, they dived into the field of movie making and released a number of short movies on their YouTube channel. Their first web series Gangs Of Berozgaar received critical appreciation on YouTube. It was appreciated by many Bollywood actors including the likes of Manoj Bajpayee. Gangs of Wasseypur fame Satyakaam Anand also acted in the second instalment of the web series.

Later they realised that they could grow outside the college as well and act as a platform for rising talents who don’t get an opportunity to showcase their talents. The idea led to the foundation of their website which was launched on 15 November 2015.Today, Pankh is not just a dramatic group, but is a team of excellence in all aspects whether theatre, street plays, short movies, etc. Together, the team and its members have conquered many state and national level competitions across India.
