Pamuapathar (also written as Pamuapather) is a village amid the Baksa District of Assam, a northeast ern state of India. Earlier Pamuapathar was a jungle. Gradually many people from near location came there and sattled. The historical name of this village was 'FAMW-FWTHAR' meaning 'place of startling temporary.
