The Asian widow, also known as blue-tailed yellow skimmer, (Palpopleura sexmaculata) is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It is widespread in many Asian countries. The species breeds in marshy areas and small pools. It is no longer considered as a valid dragonfly species inhabit in Sri Lanka (van der Poorten, N. 2011).
