Palaquium obovatum is a tree in the Sapotaceae family. It grows up to 40 metres (130 ft) tall. The bark is red brown. Inflorescences bear up to 10 flowers. The fruits are round, up to 3 cm (1 in) in diameter. The specific epithet obovatum is from the Latin meaning "egg-shaped", referring to the leaves. The latex has been used as a low-quality gutta-percha. Habitat is limestone and other lowland forest. P. obovatum is found widely from India to Malesia.
