Pacific Drilling is an offshore ultra-deepwater drilling company. It is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, trading as PACD.

Overview

The company was founded in 2006 by Idan Ofer, a billionaire Israeli business magnate. It was listed on the Norwegian stock exchange as PDSA until 2011, when it joined the New York Stock Exchange as PACD.

It is headquartered in Luxembourg. It employs a workforce of 1,301. Its Chairman is Ron Moskovitz and its Chief Executive Officer is Christian J. Beckett.

It operates drillships for exploration internationally for ultra-deepwater offshore drilling. In 2011, one ship called the Pacific Bora was active in the Agbami Field near Nigeria. Other ships are active in the Offshore oil and gas in the US Gulf of Mexico and in Brazil.
