P. C. Sharma Esquire is a retired Indian Police Officer. Mr Sharma joined the Indian Police Service in 1966. Mr Sharma was the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation of India from (2001–2003). Mr Sharma dealt with several high-profile cases during his tenure as CBI Director. He played an instrumental role in the extradition of underworld don Abu Salem. He also served as the head of the national bureau of Interpol. He was the first CBI director to be appointed after the Supreme Court set new guidelines after the Vineet Narain case. Mr Sharma held several key positions before becoming the CBI Director. He was appointed the Director General of Police, Sikkim in 1996.

Mr Sharma was appointed to the National Human Rights Commission of India in 2004. Mr P.C. Sharma was appointed by the NDA to begin with and then by the UPA Government.

Mr Sharma is an avid reader and an author.
