Punchi Banda Gunathilleke Kalugalla (19 March 1920 – 20 November 2007), known as "P. B. G. Kalugalla",familiar Name for Kegalle was a Sri Lankan politician, Cabinet Minister and diplomat. He contested 1956 election as a Sri Lanka Freedom Party candidate for Kegalle electorate won and appointed as a Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health by Prime Minister S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike. In June 1959 he was appointed as Minister of Cultural Affairs & Social Services, and also served that portfolio under Prime Minister W. Dahanayake. In March 1960 he contested same electorate was successful .In same year July election he won it and appointed as Minister of Transport & Works by Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.In 1962 November he was appointed as Minister of Finance, in 1963 May First re-shuffle was appointed as Minister of Education & Cultural Affairs by Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.In 1965 he contested same electorate was successful.And also did it in 1970 and appointed as Minister of Shipping & Tourism by Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.In 1975 after L.S.S.P. ministers left from cabinet Aviation portfolio added to his Ministry too. In 1977 he lost but 1994 successful by D.U.N.F. ticket then appointed as Deputy Minister of Justice & Cultural Affairs by Chandrika Kumaratunge.
