Ozara Town is an autonomous community in Isuikwuato, Local Government Area of Abia, Nigeria.

There are four major clans in Ozara, namely: Amaohoro, Amaelem, Umuagu and Amaja. The mainly agricultural community of Ozara is a compacted settlement. Ozara is led by a tribal king, Eze Lazurus Mmaduagwu.

Catholicism dominates the religion. Ozara Central School, a relic of the Catholic missions to the area, is currently managed by the government. Abosso Apostolic Faith Church is the second oldest after the school, followed by the local Methodist Church and Pentecostalism.

Ozara has a railway station called Ozara Station, in a site which is an hour's walk from the center of the community through Uzo-Ugboala.

Ozara formerly observe an "eight-market-day" trade which takes place every "Eke" market day. Recently, it has been reduced to every four days which means it now observes both Ozara and the nearby Amiyi community's market days. Ozara sells primarily garri, varieties of yam, palm oil, and other farm produce.

Community Challenges

The people of Ozara Ukette have some major challenges such as:

  1. Poor transportation network as a result of bad roads, unavailability of mechanised farming
  2. Unavailability of drinking water, as the nearby streams are seasonal and contaminated.
  3. Inadequate health care facilities
  4. Lack of electricity
  5. Poor incentives from government to promote and support farming in the area
  6. Dilapidated railway stations and schools which are owned by the government.
