The Our Lady of Help Bridge (Portuguese: Ponte de Nossa Senhora da Ajuda, Spanish: Puente de Nuestra Señora de Ayuda) is a bridge that crosses the Guadiana River between Elvas, Portugal and Olivença, Portugal.

History

In 1510 the bridge was built for King Manuel I of Portugal to connect Elvas with the then Portuguese town of Olivença on the left bank of the Guadiana River.

In 1709 the bridge was partially demolished during the War of the Spanish Succession.

On 24 January 1967 the Portuguese government declared the bridge a National Heritage Monument. On 13 March 2009 it was declared Bien de Interés Cultural by the Spanish government.
