Oszkar Gerde (July 8, 1883 – October 8, 1944) was a two-time Olympic champion Hungarian fencer.

Biography

Dr. Oszkar Gerde, who was Jewish, was born July 8, 1883, in Budapest, Hungary. He was affiliated with MAC, in Budapest. Subsequently, he judged international fencing competitions.

He won two gold medals at the Olympics, in 1908 and 1912 winning the team sabre with the Hungarian team.

He was deported from Hungary in 1944 and was killed October 8, 1944, at the age of 61 in Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration Camp, Oberosterreich, Austria.
