Ostrovsky District (Russian: Остро́вский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,446 square kilometers (944 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement of rural type) of Ostrovskoye. Population: 12,787 (2010 Census); 14,758 (2002 Census); 17,141 (1989 Census). The population of Ostrovskoye accounts for 39.4% of the district's total population.
