Orpheus mosaics are found in several contexts throughout the Roman Empire. The subject is found, for example, in Woodchester in the present day United Kingdom as well as Volubilis in present-day Morocco. Orpheus was a popular subject in classical art, and was also used in Early Christian art as a symbol for Christ. According to last researches, a new orpheus mosaic found in prusias ad hypium in present-day Duzce in Turkey.
