Orotelli (Sardinian: Oroteddi) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Nuoro in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) north of Cagliari and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Nuoro. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,282 and an area of 61.2 square kilometres (23.6 sq mi). The town is known for its traditional carnival costumes, including distinctive masks worn by the Thurpos.
