Orlando Symphony Orchestra

Orlando Symphony Orchestra is a professional orchestra based in Orlando, Florida. It was founded in 1990 as "Central Florida Friends of Music". The group collaborates with many cultural and religious organizations. Orlando Symphony also provides large ensembles for corporate conventions in the area. Clients have included McDonald's, Honeywell, IBM, Pfizer, Americredit, etc. Unlike the two other Orlando-area orchestra groups, the so-called Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and the named Bach Festival]] Society (in residence at Rollins College), the Orlando Symphony does not present a regularly scheduled concert series, aside from a few annual events. However, Orlando Symphony Orchestra performs a regular stream of concert events throughout the season including pops concerts, classical concerts, choral concerts with the finest choirs in the area, culminating with the Xmas season during which a number of concerts are presented in quick succession..

Orlando Symphony Orchestra employs only the finest fully professional musicians, not just from the Central Florida area. The artistic level of any group depends largely on the calibre of the musicians participating in the music-making. Musicians travel from all over Florida ( Miami, Ft. Laud, Tampa, Jacksonville etc.) to participate, as they find Orlando Symphony Orchestra to be a rewarding musical experience.
