The Optare Toro was a minibus body that was built by Optare for use on the Mercedes-Benz Vario chassis and launched in late October 2005. The Optare Viedo, a lower cost version based on an Iveco chassis, was introduced in 2009. Both models were discontinued in the first quarter of 2012.
History
As of 2008, theToro, Solera was imported by Optare from the Spanish manufacturer Ferqui, and marketed as Optare products. Due to significantly reduced demand for minicoaches and midicoaches, as part of its restructuring process, Optare took the decision to concentrate on its bus manufacturing activities and the relationship with Ferqui was formally ended in 2012.
