Omphghent Township is located in Madison County, Illinois, in the United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 2,381 and it contained 1,021 housing units.

History
Omphghent took its name from a church that stood near the home of the first permanent settler.
Geography
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 33.99 square miles (88.0 km2), of which 33.55 square miles (86.9 km2) (or 98.71%) is land and 0.44 square miles (1.1 km2) (or 1.29%) is water.
