The OCCSL (Oklahoma Club Collegiate Soccer League) currently regulates as a recreational men's soccer team competition in Oklahoma and surrounding regions. For many surrounding universities in Oklahoma the league serves as a first tier competition due to lack of a varsity men's soccer team. The league is directly affiliated the NIRSA (National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association), which is an independent national association, and sends representatives yearly to the regional tournament en route to the national tournament. The top four teams qualify for the conference playoffs to decide the champion. During the fall seasons, the OCCSL conference sends 2-3 teams to the regional qualifiers of region IV of the NIRSA.

To participate In the league the only requirements are to have an active STUDENT soccer club. Funding and willingness to have a student leader to draw together a team is usual essential to making the team happen. Contrary to general belief the league accepts any team to participate even if their college already has a true varsity team. The league is in no shape or form a varsity team and is more like a student recreational team. Usually the league allows 3-5 alumni or college employees to play on the team depending on shortage of players and with the right credentials.
