Oeonistis altica is a member of family Erebidae. It is found in south-east Asia, including China, Hong Kong, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, northern India, the Philippines, Taiwan as well as in Australia in Queensland.

Adults are deep yellow, with black markings on the forewings.

The larvae feed lichen, and possibly also on Flacourtia and Ficus species. They are pale grey with a black stripe along the back and hairy.
