Octomylodon is an extinct genus of ground sloth of the family Mylodontidae, living during the Miocene-Pleistocene. Fossil remains of Octomulodon have been found uniquely in Argentina, South America from 23 mya—11,000 years ago, existing for approximately 22.89 million years.
Taxonomy
Octomylodon was assigned to Mylodontidae by Carroll (1988).
