Oblaat (Japanese: オブラート) is a thin edible layer of starch that wraps some candies in Japan.

It is useful to preserve gelatinous sweets by absorbing humidity. It has no taste nor odor, and is transparent.

The name comes from the Dutch word "oblaat".
