Oakland is an unincorporated community in Lauderdale County, Alabama, United States. On April 27, 2011, a tornado reportedly hit ground west-southwest of Oakland injuring one person in his vehicle, and later reported west of Oakland near a church (see April 25–28, 2011 tornado outbreak). Oakland has a fire department.
