Nur (Persian: نور, also Romanized as Nūr, Nour, and Noor; formerly, Sūldeh and Sūlehdeh) is a city in and capital of Nur County, located on the Caspian Sea in Mazandaran Province of northern Iran.

At the 2006 census, its population was 21,806, in 6,164 families.
Overview
Located on the Caspian Sea coast, Nur is one of the oldest cities of west Mazandaran Province. It derives its name from Nur County, of which it is the administrative seat.
Nur is the ancestral home of Bahá'u'lláh, founder of the Bahá'í Faith.
