Nottinghamshire County Rowing Association was formed in 1981 by a small group of elite rowers from the Trentside clubs in Nottingham UK. After 25 years of national and international success it was disbanded, in 2006.

Competing in their distinctive lime green strip, crews from the 2000m rowing course at Holme Pierrepont enjoyed wins at Henley Royal Regatta and many other elite regattas. At World level, competing as Great Britain, many of the squad's athletes achieved Olympic and World Champion status.

A notable Henley Royal Regatta race in 1989 sums up the many distinguishing qualities of NCRA athletes. The infamous Ladies Plate re-row against Harvard's Heavyweight Varsity crew.

The squad, sponsored by Nottinghamshire County Council, attracted a number of coaches over its twenty five-year history.
