The Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition started in 2008 when brothers Mick and Andy Wilson of Clement Pianos Nottingham, decided to give the world's young jazz pianists a platform to display their talents to the world.

Major sponsors of the competition have included Clement Pianos, Bluthner Pianos of Leipzig and Kawai Pianos Japan.

Judges for the competitions have included Tim Richards, David Newton, Robert Mitchell, Zoe Rahman, Jonathan Gee, James Harpham, Andrea Vicari and Jamil Sheriff.

  • 2008 finalists were Dan Whieldon (winner), Tom Hewson, Chris Donnelly and Sam Hogarth
  • 2010 finalists were Logan Thomas (winner), Chris Donnelly, Mathis Picard and Jake Sherman.
  • 2012 finalists were Jeremy Siskind (winner), Angelo Di Loreto, Jerry Leonide, and Nicholas Hetko.
