Notes in Motion is a non-profit dance theatre company, founded in 2000, with two divisions: Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre and Outreach Dance Theatre.

Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre presents original choreographic works that integrate human drama, visual image, and soundscape into dance performance. Over the past ten years, they have developed and produced over 20 productions at NYC dance venues including Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, Dance Theater Workshop, the Ailey Citigroup Theater, John Jay College, University Settlement, The Culture Project, Dance Space Center, Dance New Amsterdam, Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts and The Philip Coltoff Center at Greenwich Village. In 2009, they toured to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in the Beckett, MA. Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre has also performed in the DUMBO Dance Festival, Association for Performing Arts Presenters Conference. and the COOL NY Dance Festival.

Outreach Dance Theatre offers classroom residency, professional development, interactive performance, and after-school programs that teach dance skills, choreography, improvisation, inter-disciplinary study, and arts appreciation. They are a vendor of the NYC Department of Education and bring programs to public and private schools throughout the New York area. All programs reflect the learning standards as outlined in the NYC Dept. of Education's Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts.
