NoBroker.com is a Bangalore based real estate search portal that connects flat owners and tenants directly with each other. The company does not charge any brokerage from either parties. Founded in 2014, the company has 4 lac users, which it claims are genuine owners and home seekers. It is operational in 4 cities namely, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Chennai.
NoBroker was founded by IIT and IIM Ahmedabad graduates, Amit Kumar Agarwal, Akhil Gupta & Saurabh Garg because they claimed that brokers do not add value in the real estate transaction and still charge heavy brokerage. NoBroker claims to work on the backbone of a technology that identifies and bans brokers. Early 2014 NoBroker started operations in Mumbai. As on date NoBroker has operations in Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Chennai.
In February 2014, the company raised $3M in series A from SAIF Partners and Fulcrum Venture India, venture capital companies in India. NoBroker had started as a rental platform but it recently forayed into brokerage free buy/sell property as well. In February 2016 NoBroker has closed series B funding of $10M from Japan-based BeeNext.
NoBroker.com created an algorithm which identifies and bans brokers from the portal. They offer services like creating and registering rental agreements and getting it home delivered. The company also has an Android app with a crowd sourcing feature called 'click and earn'.
According to some media reports the company’s office in Bangalore was attacked by local brokers.
