Bửu Chánh is an advocate of the restoration of a constitutional monarchy in Vietnam. He believes that if the people of Vietnam have the opportunity to vote for such a system of government, they would choose it.

Power struggle of the Nguyễn dynasty

The late Crown Prince Bảo Long denied the validity of Bửu Chánh's claims to be "regent" of the Nguyễn Dynasty, or to represent the Imperial House in any way whatsoever.

Bửu Chánh states on his website "Please note, that on the express wishes of their late father, Emperor Bao Dai, both brothers were forbidden to take part in any form of politics and this included Vietnamese Orders of Chivalry", but has not provided any documentation to show proof.[1]

Upon the death of Crown Prince Bảo Long, his younger brother HIH Prince Bảo Thắng became the legitimate head of the Nguyễn dynasty and heir to the throne.
