News 12 Brooklyn is an American cable news television channel that is owned by the Newsday Media Holdings subsidiary of Altice USA. The channel provides 24-hour rolling news coverage focused primarily on the borough of Brooklyn, New York. The channel is headquartered in The Bronx, and shares studio facilities and on-air talent with sister channel News 12 The Bronx.

It is an affiliate of the News 12 Networks slate of regional cable news channels in the New York City metropolitan area (each of which focus on areas outside of Manhattan and Queens, including the easternmost boroughs). In addition to its carriage on Altice, the channel is also carried on Charter Spectrum's systems in Rockland, Kings and Orange Counties on digital channel 156.

Background

The channel was launched in 2005. Like sister channel News 12 The Bronx, News 12 Brooklyn utilizes hybrid gas/electric powered vehicles for its newsgathering units in an effort to reduce air pollution. On June 2, 2010, News 12 Brooklyn unveiled a new set for its news programming, which includes duratrans that change from yellow (which is used for the morning and afternoon broadcasts) to blue (used for the evening and overnight broadcasts) depending on daypart.

On December 17, 2010, News 12 Brooklyn debuted a new set for its newscasts, as well as a new imaging package – including an updated logo, overhauls to its news ticker and graphics package, and a new music package ("Convergence" by Stephen Arnold).
