The Newcastle/Gateshead Medical Volunteers Charity is a collective group of healthcare professionals from the North East of England comprising orthopaedic surgeons, nursing staff, physiotherapists and anaesthetists among others.

The NGMV Charity was founded by Professor Deiary Kader who was born in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan. The group work in partnership with the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) and Nechirvan Health Aid Office in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to provide voluntary medical care to the population of Iraq. Dr Kader is a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at the Chelsea Lister Hospital, Epsom & St Helier University Hospital, Spire St Anthony's hospital in SOUTH LONDON, he has been working in the UK since 1993.

The Charity arranges regular visits to the Kurdistan region of Iraq to provide much needed orthopaedic service to the local population, including organisation of outpatient clinics, performing surgical operations and arranging basic teaching and training courses for medical students and Kurdish health-care professionals.
