New Madrid County Central is a secondary school located in New Madrid County, Missouri. It serves grades 9-12 and is located just outside Howardville, Missouri. The school serves to a majority of New Madrid County, except for Risco High School, Portageville High School, and Gideon High School. The school became county-wide in 1980 when New Madrid, Lilbourn, and Parma High Schools (Matthews joined in 1983) all combined making New Madrid County Central High School. The district consists of one middle school, which is located on the same 60+ acre campus that the high school is on, and three elementary schools which are located in New Madrid, Lilbourn, and Matthews.

The high school currently has three principals. Michael Wren became the head principal in 2011, Rand Amick has been assistant principal since 2009, and John Garner has been assistant principal and head principal for the New Madrid County Central Vocational School since 2011.

The school holds a strong reputation for sports and music, having numerous all-state athletes and musicians.

NMCC has won 8 consecutive district champs under the direction of head football coach Arlen Pixley, and has competed at the state football level many times.

NMCC has won two track state champions and three state basketball champions since the school has formed.

In 2012, the girls' basketball team beat Doniphan and became district champs.
