New Hampshire's 4th State Senate District is one of 24 Senate districts. It is currently represented by Democrat David Watters of Dover.

From 2002 through 2012, the 4th district included most of Belknap County and two towns in Strafford County. Starting with the 2012 elections, the 4th district consists of a portion of Strafford County centered on Dover.

    Senator Kathleen Sgambati decided to retire after serving two terms. Her replacement on the Democratic side was Andrew Hosmer of Laconia. Hosmer was defeated by Republican Jim Forsythe of Strafford, who had defeated George Hurt of Gilford and David Bickford of New Durham in the September 14th primary.
