Nelson City Council is one of the 16 Regions of New Zealand, and has its headquarters in Nelson.
The current Council (2016-19) is: Mayor Rachel Reese, Deputy Mayor Paul Matheson, Councillors: Luke Acland, Ian Barker, Mel Courtney, Bill Dahlberg, Kate Fulton, Matt Lawrey, Brian McGurk, Gail Noonan, Matt Rutledge, Tim Skinner, and Stuart Walker.
