Dr. Necmi Dayday (born May 10, 1943 in Erzurum, Turkey) is a Turkish nuclear physicist. He is a retired IAEA safeguards inspector and retired professor of physics at the Galatasaray University, Istanbul. He is an active member of the scientific board of the TSV Project (Turkey's Strategic Vision 2023 Project), coordinated by TASAM (Turkish Asian Center for Strategic Studies) where he is also a member of the administrative board.

He is a graduate of Galatasaray High School (class of '62) as well as Sidwell Friends, Washington D.C (class of '63), where he was the field service student of the school year 1962/63. He studied physics at Robert College of Istanbul, now part of Bosphorus University. He earned his masters degree in nuclear physics and engineering at the Istanbul Technical University.

In 1970, he attended Saclay Nuclear Research Centre, Paris where he earned his doctor's degree (Genie Atomique) in nuclear physics.

Dayday is married and the father of a daughter (b. 1966) and a son (1970–2011). Apart from his native Turkish, he speaks fluent French, English and German.
