National Association of the Deaf (India)

The National Association of the Deaf (N.A.D. India) is an organization for the deaf in India founded in 2005. The goal of N.A.D. is the organization and education India's deaf population. The N.A.D. promotes the use of Indian Sign Language. The N.A.D. currently has over 2,500 members. In January 2007, the N.A.D. was able to coordinate with the Linguistic Department of Jawahar Lal Nehru University Delhi, the launch of The Association of Sign Language Interpreters.

Unlike the National Association of the Deaf (United States), the N.A.D. is not affiliated with the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD). However, another organization, "All India Federation of the Deaf" is affiliated with WDF.
