Natalus lanatus, commonly called the Bicolor Murciélago, is a funnel-eared bat species. It is endemic to north-central and west-central Mexico.

Distribution and habitat

The species is native to the states of Chihuahua, Durango, Guerrero, Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa, and Veracruz. It can be found from the lowlands to middle elevations in the tropical deciduous Sonoran-Sinaloan transition subtropical dry forest and Bajío dry forests, the mountain tropical Sierra Madre Occidental pine-oak forests, and onto the Mexican Plateau.

It is found in several protected areas, such as Pico de Orizaba and the Mapimí Biosphere Reserve in the Bolsón de Mapimí, an endorheic basin of the Mexican Plateau.
