Nasib Mukhtarov – (Azerbaijani: Nəsib Mirsaleh oglu Muxtarov) was an Azerbaijani archeologist. Sr. research officer, Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography / Sheki. Shief of the Sheki, Qakh, Oguz expedition of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan. Mukhtarov received his degree in history and social sciences from Baku State University. He has devoted his life to finding, collecting, researching, preserving, and promoting Azerbaijan's, particularly Sheki's, architectural, epigraphy, lapidary and numismatic monuments. He began his career as an archeologist in 1983. Besides Sheki, he also participated in many expeditions in Zagatala, Qakh and Balakan as senior researcher. He was also a part of an international expedition in ancient Kish village (Sheki, Azerbaijan). Nasib hopes to improve his skills in historic preservation in the Sheki region. He would like to increase the registration of historic monuments, and expand popular knowledge of historic and cultural heritage.
