Narcissus symptomless virus (NSV) is a plant pathogenic virus. It infects Narcissus plants. Transmission occurs by Aphids.

Taxonomy

NSV was isolated and proposed as a new species of genus Carlavirus by Chen et al. in 2006 and proposed to the ICTV as an update from the 8th report (2005), and was subsequently incorporated into the 9th report (2009). However in 2012 further information came to light to suggest that this was in fact Nerine latent virus, and it was recommended that the name be removed. This will take effect in the next release.

Consequently this taxon is reduced to a synonym of Nerine latent virus, since the latter has priority.
