Clock gustav becker napoleon oak case

The Napoleon Oak is an oak tree, former the largest oak in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe.

It was a monumental tree with single—stemmed, hollow trunk. Its girth at the 1,3 m height was 1042,5 cm, height of the tree was 28 m (in 2007), volume—about 130 m³. Age of the tree was estimated on 600–700 years. Unfortunately, this oak was set on fire by vandals (at least third time in history) and collapsed on May, 2010.

Name of the tree is connected to Napoleon Bonaparte, who allegedly stopped by this oak in 1812, when his army went to Russia.

Oak grew in Zabór, Lubusz Voivodeship.
