Nansen Reef (54°18′S 36°9′W) is a submerged rocky ridge with a depth of about 2 m over it, situated 4.5 nautical miles (8 km) east-southeast of Cape George, off the north coast of South Georgia. Named after the S.S. Fridtjof Nansen, which struck this reef and sank, November 10, 1906.
