Nanjing Man (Homo erectus nankinensis) is a subspecies of Homo erectus found in China. Male and female skulls of H. e. nankinensis were discovered in 1993 in Tangshan Cave near Nanjing, and they have been dated to be about 580,000 to 620,000 years old. The skull is now preserved in Nanjing Museum and is under in-depth research by authoritative scientists in the field.
