Nambukurichi agricultural works


Nambukurichi is a village near to Padalur located in the Lalgudi zone of the city of Tiruchirappalli in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The 2010 population was estimated to be 1000 people. Nambukurichi has one primary school, Panchayat Union Elementary School. Approximately 80 students are studying there. This school started before 60 years.

The village population is around 1,000. This is the less populated and individual panchayath in Tiruchirappalli district.

In this village there are around 15 temples.

Most of the people in this village are involved in agriculture. Cotton is a main crop here. In the village many people are farmers. In this village is one big lake of around 75 acres.

In ancient days, the name of the village was Nanbankurichy. Later it has been changed as Nambukurichi.

Mr. N. K. Periyasamy is a current president of this village. He was selected as a president in 2011 panchayat election which is conducted by Tamil Nadu Election Commission. He is also an active member in a DMK Party.

In the village, every year during pongal festival will be the best season for this village.

In the village every year January month, sports events will be conducted by volunteer group youths. They collect donations from the village people. They conduct events and distribute prizes using this money.

In the group Rajendran Poonai, Sengamalai S, Ragupathi R, Selvakumar A, Rajesh K, Muthuselvam M, Vinothkumar K, Durairaj B, Rajasekar M, Jayaraman A are notable persons. They also planned for 2017 pongal sports.
