NamazAlert is a free Islamic service which sends the times of daily prayers to subscribers through SMS. It works by calculating the prayer times based on the city of the user, and then forwards the information to the user's mobile phone. NamazAlert, while discontinued in 2009 due to the prevalence of Smartphone Apps, was used daily by over 17,000 users.
NamazAlert was developed, promoted, and maintained by Vilas Subhash Pendse.
