NGC 6380

NGC 6380 is a globular cluster located in the constellation Scorpius. It was discovered by the British astronomer John Herschel on 29 June 1834. It is at a distance of about 35,500 light years away from earth. NGC 6380 was initially characterized as an open cluster, and given the designation Pişmiş 25, however later in 1950, the American astronomer A. David Thackeray found that it is actually a globular cluster.
